The Honopu Ridge Trail was a highlight of my trip. I hiked to the Na Pali Coast lookout point before turning back as the sun began to set. The round trip was about 4.5 miles.
The Maha’ulepu Heritage Trail at Shipwreck Beach is a hidden gem, offering 2 miles of coastal beauty. With its diverse hiking routes, from dramatic cliffside paths to lush forest trails, this trail never ceases to amaze. As luck would have it, this trail was right outside my resort. During my hike, I discovered the Makauwahi Cave, a significant fossil site, and encountered a peaceful tortoise sanctuary. My adventure concluded with a refreshing dip in the ocean at Shipwreck Beach.
Waimea Canyon State Park offers 8 diverse hiking trails. While leaving the canyon, I stumbled upon the stunning Red Dirt Falls, easily accessible from the roadside. To find it, simply search for “Stream and Canyon Lookout” on Google Maps.
