Córdoba is famous for its Mezquita (Great Mosque), the Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos, the Synagogue, and the Roman Bridge. The city is characterized by narrow streets, squares, fountains, and flower-filled courtyards. My friend Christy and I took a 50-minute train ride from Malaga.
Entry to the Mezquita-Cathedral of Córdoba was €13. The mihrab, regarded as a masterpiece of Islamic architecture and one of the most significant in the Muslim world, is the mosque’s crowning glory, featuring stunning Byzantine mosaics and intricately crafted marble.
I ate lunch at Bodegas Mezquita. The food and service were great.
We ended our day with some gelato on the side of the road.
